Goaltycoon Hints and Tips - Popularity

Popularity is a very important factor in GoalTycoon. As your popularity level becomes higher, so will your income from ticket sales. A higher popularity means you will receive more ticket paying fans that will come to your team’s home games. Therefore, your club will be making more money. The number of ticket paying supporters coming to the Stadium is determined by your club’s popularity, and the popularity of the opposing club. Therefore each home game's attendance will be determined by the following formula:

(The Popularity of your Club + The Popularity of the opposing Club) x 100/2

Quick example (500 + 500) = 1000 x 100 = 100000/2 = 50000 paying supporters

The Popularity decreases when your team loses matches either home or away and when the supporters are not pleased with the Stadium’s conditions, for example when you don't have enough seats for supporters that wish to pay for a ticket and attend the game. There is however the opportunity to increase the price of tickets you sell causing the amount of paying supporters to decrease. This is due again to a system that has been put in place to balance what tickets you sell and how many, it is currently set to the following:

http://www.goaltycoon.com/bestfootballgame/Adiuk
60% of supporters will buy a chair ticket
30% of supporters will buy an armchair ticket
10% of supporters will buy VIP tickets

So if we take the above example of 50000 tickets to be sold:

30000 supporters will buy a chair ticket
15000 supporters will buy an armchair ticket
5000 supporters will buy VIP tickets

Therefore you need to make sure that you have the seats available for each criteria otherwise you will lose popularity points. As mentioned previously you can affect the amount of supporters wishing to attend the game by increasing the ticket price, however i would not advice this as putting the prices too high can also cost you a lot of popularity points. I feel that popularity points are one of the most important things in the game as it directly affects your income.

Remember ticket sales and attendance only apply to home games. If you are playing an away game then you don't need to worry about the attendance and ticket prices.
